I started off wearing size 20 and some 22 pants. I’m now wearing size 14 and 16 pants. Mostly 16. I will never wear tight pants…I’m too into comfort :) It looks like I’ll be hitting that goal of 159 pounds (officially not overweight for my height) by my fourtieth (shudder) birthday in January. YAY ME!

I want to give a shout out to my buddy, Kerstin with the hot runner legs. She gave me the motivation to start running :)

Have a great day everyone!

Made it halfway to my goal!

Today was “weigh in day” and I’m at 178. I’ve lost 40 pounds! I’m over half way to my goal of 140 and only 19 pounds away from not being overweight. Yay me!

My girls…

These are my girls and my biggest motivation to be a strong, healthy woman. My daughter, Cassie (on the left) is my 23 year old that just received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. She will be going to grad school in the fall. Mysia (right) will be 6 the end of August and just graduated from  developemental pre-school.

Ahhh, progress…

So, I just did my weekly weigh in and here is my progress so far…

April 19, 2009 (day 1): Weight: 218 lbs, Waist: 42″, Hips: 48″, Bust: 42″, Thighs: 25.5″, Arms: 13.5″.

May 24, 2009: Weight: 200 lbs, Waist: 39″, Hips: 44″, Bust: 39″, Thighs: 23.5″, Arms: 12″.

July 5th, 2009: Weight: 184 lbs, Waist: 35.5″, Hips: 42″, Bust: 38″, Thighs: 22.5″, Arms: 11″ (with some awesome guns!).

Solved the clothing dilemma!

I started out as a size 20 or 22. I was ok when I went down to a size 18. I still had plenty of that size but, then when I got down to a 16 I had no clothes. I bought one pair of size 16 shorts for 10 bucks at Wally World but, they are already getting too big. Hmmm, what to do? Yesterday I spied an ad for the thrift shop in my town that was having a $5 bag sale starting today. I got there at 9am when they opened and made out big time. I bought every cute item they had between size 10 and 14. For 15 bucks I got three grocery sacks full of pants, shorts, jeans and shirts…even some cute sleep shorts. Yay me! I even filled another bag for Nate and the kids! I love thrift stores!

What I’ve learned…

It’s already been 10 weeks since I started getting healthy! Just wanted to share some of the things I’ve learned.

I’ve learned…

1. Yoga will make you feel muscles you never knew existed.

2. You don’t have to spend money to exercise.

3. Sweating is a must.

4. I have biceps!

5. You can work your butt off!

6. Fat free mozzarella cheese costs twice as much and tastes like plastic.

7. 5 year olds will eat broccoli, zucchini and spaghetti squash if you put it front of them often enough.

8. Lean Cuisine will neither make you lean nor is it cuisine.

9.  People (even kids) can survive 10 weeks without fast food.

10. Artificial sweeteners are evil.

11. I can be inspired and even inspire others.

12. Jillian Michaels has sadistic tendencies.

13. I look at things way differently at 39 than 29.

14. Healthy Choice is a misnomer.

13. I can get giddy over other peoples accomplishments.

14. Eating one ingredient foods makes sense to me.

15. That “locking your core in” can become a habit.

16. If you really want something there will be no excuses.

Have a great day!

I’m really overweight and really happy about it…

Today I weighed in at 189 lbs. I am no longer OBESE! Yay me!

Anyone take bee pollen?

Well, my mom has bought a big ole bottle of bee pollen. She showed it to me yesterday and was all excited about it. She was told (by the man that sold it to her) that it will make her feel younger and improve her memory and apparently allow her to live forever. OK, I made the last thing up but, I had stopped listenening to her by that time and was doing the “I’ve tuned you out but, will continue to nod and smile in the appropriate places.”

Apparently my sister has been taking bee pollen for a while, too. Which for me would be a red flag. I love my sister but, this woman will jump on any new product that promises increased health and/ or weight loss.

I’ve googled bee pollen and the only people that seem to say how great it is are the ones selling it.

 Anyone tried it?

Farmer’s market…

Have you been to your local farmer’s market yet? I went and got all kinds of berries. I froze a ton of them. Fresh lettuce, melons, tomatos and eggs. Yummy.
